Throughout the year you can find some fun and exciting festivals in New Hampshire. This small state offers big opportunities for adults, children, and families to enjoy a festival. If you’re a food lover, music lover, or beer lover, you should definitely check out one of these can’t-miss festivals in the state.
Hampton Beach Seafood Festival

Don’t miss the Hampton Beach Seafood Festival. Check out Hampton Beach hotels to book your hotel for this September festival. Since it’s the shoulder season, you should be able to find good deals on hotels, and not worry about the typical daily crowds during the entire trip. The Seafood Festival boasts live entertainment, a skydiving show, fireworks, and culinary demonstrations. Of course, the Seafood Festival also offers more than 50 New Hampshire restaurants serving lobster, clams, shrimp, and other delicious eats.
NH Brew Fest
Visit Portsmouth in October for the yearly Brew Fest. Over 50 craft breweries from all over the United States heads to New Hampshire to take part in this brew festival. You will have a hard time choosing which beers to try with over 150 varieties available. Food trucks and vendors will also be onsite to pair some delicious bites with your beers.
New Hampshire Music Festival
If you’re a classical music lover, then you should check out the New Hampshire Music Festival. The festival was founded in 1952 and currently takes place during the summer at Plymouth State University. Over 200 musicians perform well-known classical and contemporary music during this event. The festival benefits music students so you know the New Hampshire Music Festival is for a good cause.
Market Square Day
Presented by the Non-Profit Organization, Pro Portsmouth, Market Square Day started in the late 1970s and is still going strong today. This festival boasts over 150 vendors with between 60,000 to 80,000 people visiting downtown Portsmouth every year for this one-day festival. The fun starts off with a road race and ends with a live musical performance.
Prescott Park Arts Festival
The Prescott Park Arts Festival is actually a string of events throughout the summer at Prescott Park. Passes for the festivals are first come, first served in exchange for a suggested donation. Some of the events include a Chowder Festival in June, a concert series in the summer, community showcases, a chili cookoff, a brew festival, and a 5K road race.
Fall Foliage Festival
Head to Warner, New Hampshire, in the fall to experience the Fall Foliage Festival. This festival has taken place for over 70 years. The Fall Foliage Festival is typically a 3-day festival with a road race, farmer’s market, and live music. Past events have also included a woodsmen competition, a lobster dinner and chicken BBQ, and a themed parade.
One of the best parts about New Hampshire is that you can find a festival almost any time of year. Whether you love classical music, want to participate in a road race, or want to taste locals beers, you can find a festival in the state the fits your preferences.
