It was good to be backed to Venice again! The trip in Italy is over now and all I have are the memories and the photographs I took from those trips we did to the different places there. I never had enough of Venice and I keep on coming back in this beautiful city. Indeed, for me it is always one of the most beautiful cities I visited in Europe. I won’t be there again and again if I don’t love it!
Facts about Rialto Bridge:
Width 22.90 metres (75.1 ft)
Height 7.32 metres (24.0 ft)
Longest span 28.80 metres (94.5 ft)
Construction begin 1588
Construction end 1591
I am sharing now an image I took of the this famous bridge in Venice. This is the Rialto bridge, knonw in Italian as Ponte di Rialto. It is one of the four bridges spanning the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy and the oldest bridge across the canal. It divides the districts of San Marco and San Polo.
This bridge is one of the reasons why I want to go back to this city. During my first three visits, that was back in 2004, 2005 and 2006, I was not able to see it due to limited time and other things that hindered us from going there. During my fourth visit in summer 2011, I passed over it but did not really take some better pictures like what I have here. I promised myself that one day I will visit Venice again and will take more time in visiting this bridge. It did finally happened during my fifth visit. Venice was included in our travel itinerary and I was so happy about it.
There are always a lot of tourists roaming around on this bridge especially during day time. Some go there for sightseeing. Since there are shops located on this bridge, guests and tourists are taking the chance to go shopping as well. Many would like to take pictures as remembrance from this famous architecture, including me.
It was indeed a lovely day I had in Venice despite a bit misunderstanding with my travel companion. I felt sorry for that but the decision to part ways when we did our sightseeing was a good one. That is why most of the times, I prefer to travel alone to do all the things I wanted to do especially in seeing all the sights I wanted to see. I can also manage my time very well if I do the sightseeing alone. One last thing, being alone is faster than having a companion which makes you slow sometimes especially if you want to do different things.
Please remember that Venice city in its entirety is listed as a World Heritage Site, along with its lagoon.
Hi dear friends and visitors!! thanks for visiting me here!! Have a great and blessed day!!
